Matching is built-in to the script we are using for the community and different sections of your profile are used as a way to “score” how other member’s are matched.
An example of matching scores:
- Same “This Week” Goals: 80%
- Same Main Goal: 30%
- Same Tags: 30%
- “Good at” Matches “Not Good at”: 20%
(For example, you have stated that you are “Good at: Bookkeeping” and someone else has put that they are “Not good at: Bookkeeping”, then you will be matched 20% as a good fit for helping that person)
- “Not Good at” Matches “Good at”: 20%
(If you have stated you are “Not Good at” Tax and someone else has stated that they are “Good at” Tax, then they will show as 20% matched to you.
- Same Goals: 20%
- Same Country: 20%
- Same City: 20%
- Same Postcode/Zip: 20%
- Same Occupation: 20%
- Same Future Travels: 15%
- Same Description: 10%
- Same Hobbies: 10%
- Same Book Inspiration: 10%
- Same Past Travels: 10%
- Same Music Inspiration: 5%
- Same Last Name: 5%
- Same Date of Birth: 5%
So you can see, the more you completely fill out your profile, the more likely you are to find other members that match your goals and interests.
And that it is actually possible to have more than 100% matching with members if they put the exact same things as you in their goals/interests/location, etc.
You will automatically get emailed when another member hits at least a 100% score with your goals and the above.
You can also see your matches by clicking on “Match” under People, and you can see the actual percentage by clicking on “Extended”See Your Matches
